Community services

Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we actively engage and work in partnership with local people and groups. We have a track record of transformative projects that ignite the power of local communities to create a sustainable future.

“Sow the City’s mentorship has given us the opportunity to create something wonderful in Newton Heath. A chance to try and change people’s mindsets on sustainable living and bring nature back into our ward. We are excited to see what the future holds and it’s a huge thanks to Sow the City and this project.”

Kelly Robinson, founder of Easy Come Easy Grow and collaborator on the Nature Neighbourhoods project

About Community services

We are passionate about working with residents to co-design solutions to tackle climate change, improve greenspace, and improve health.

  • We run community-based workshops, projects, and programmes to provide communities with the tools and knowledge necessary for improving their lives and neighbourhoods.
  • We work in partnership with Grant Funders, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, the NHS, and the VCSE (Voluntary, Community, Social Enterprise) sector.
  • We build positive relationships across different groups, organisations and networks, enabling people to participate and influence decisions, activities and services.
  • We actively engage in advocacy work at various levels. By representing the collective voice of community-led initiatives and contributing to policy and decision-making processes at regional, national, and international levels.
  • We share what we have learned to inspire others and aim to create a movement of people who care about greenspaces in cities.
