The Grange Community Garden

The Grange Community Garden

Sow the City is working with Northern Health GPPO Ltd and 4CT to develop a new wellbeing garden in Beswick, East Manchester. The project is commissioned by Manchester Health and Care Commissioning.

"A massive thanks for all the work you did on our allotment project; [You] really won the hearts of the group. I've had very positive feedback from the participants who would love to do the same again next year."

Karen Mercer, Chief Executive at Being There

Big change at the Grange

The project aims to improve health outcomes and reduce GP demand in the Beswick areas. Sow the City will use experience of working in hospital and healthcare settings to develop effective nature based interventions.

Sow the City have redeveloped the outdoor space, to createan easily accessible site for growing – including raised bedsusing re-purposed intermediate bulk containers, and hardsurfaced paths suitable for wheelchair use.

We have provided growing workshops for local people, as well as providing sessions for specific users of the GrangeCommunity Resource Centre e.g. Twinkle Star Pre-school and Being There, a charity supporting clients with life limiting illnesses.
