Food Wave
Projects > Food Wave
Catch the wave, lead the change Food Wave was a four-year EU funded programme engaging an international community of young people (15-35 years old) across 17 European Cities. The programme helped to create awareness on sustainable ways to consume and produce food with the aim of influencing food and climate change policy. The vision is to move towards a fair and sustainable global food system by 2030. Sow the City worked in partnership with MetMUnch at Manchester Metropolitan University, Groundwork Greater Manchester and the Manchester Climate Change Agency to deliver a programme of training, outreach and street action to promote action on climate change and understanding around food and climate. The programme was part of an EU-wide campaign and by 2030 will engage 15 million young people on the food-climate link at European level. We had regular registration rounds in 2020/21 for 90 young people to join the programme as sustainable food activists.
